AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmills
We have AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmills on site at our Mississauga and Brampton locations. We are two of only a handful of locations across the whole of Canada to invest in this latest technology.
Because patients can exercise without bearing their entire weight, AlterG running injury and rehab equipment enables faster rehabilitation, safer conditioning and almost effortless weight loss. Its Differential Air Pressure (DAP) technology applies a lifting force to the body that reduces weight on the lower extremities and allows precise unweighting—up to 80 per cent of a person’s body weight—so people can find exactly where the pain stops and natural movement feels good again. By reducing the pain of recovery, Focus Physiotherapy patients can rehab better, train smarter and exercise safer.
We believe the AlterG Anti-Gravity treadmill is a breakthrough piece of engineering and rehabilitation equipment that will allow us to more efficiently and effectively treat our patients. We have invested in state of the art equipment because we are innovative in our practice and determined to get patients better.
Athletic Conditioning and Rehabilitation
The world’s best athletes and sports teams consider rehabilitation equipment like the Focus Physiotherapy’s AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill an essential part of their athletic conditioning and rehabilitation programs, because it:
- Strengthens and improves muscle coordination, which also protects surrounding joints
- Promotes a full range of motion while minimizing stress
- Enables injured athletes to stay fit as they recover
A Systematic Approach to Sports Therapy
You only have one body and, no matter what sport you play, you need it to work optimally to compete. As physiotherapists, we know just how much your body means to you, and we understand athletes. We’re here to help you achieve peak performance and, in the event of injury, we’ll help you get off the sidelines and back to doing what you love most.
One of the things we’ve learned in our practice is that no two patients are exactly alike, even when they present with similar injuries. On your first visit to Focus Physiotherapy we’ll want to understand your condition, your unique history and the goals we’ll work towards together. To get going, we’ll need to complete some paperwork. You’ll find forms on our website that you can download ahead of time. And, if you have a doctor referral or insurance for your treatment, make sure you bring the necessary paperwork with you.
During your first appointment, we’ll also complete an examination. This will give us the information we need to make or confirm a diagnosis, understand the current stage of your injury and get started on your personalized in-clinic sports recovery plan. As we develop your plan, we may also assign you home exercises to help you achieve your goals.
Healthcare Information
You’ll find we put a high value on helping you understand your condition. In fact, this website has many educational articles on injury prevention for many different sports. You can also sign up for our Newsletter, which contains tips and techniques to achieve a better quality of life.
